Staff Engineer (Pearland, TX): Land Development: Prepare land plans, Design site grading and drainage facilities, and municipal utilities for project sites.Hydrology and Hydraulic Analysis and Design:  Identify the existing stream/bayou and its watershed, identify the offsite and onsite drainage areas for the proposed site, compute runoffs,  identify the flood plain in the area, design detention basin, its outfall structures and use computer models such as HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS to study and design the hydrologic and hydraulic design components. Cost Estimate: Prepare quantity and cost estimates for water, sanitary sewer, drainage, and paving for land development projects, determine the feasibility of projects based on analysis of collected data, applying engineering knowledge and techniques. Plan Preparation: Prepare construction plans and profiles; review the plans for quality assurance and quality control, co-ordinate with regulatory agencies for the approval. Work with AutoCAD, and AutoCAD Civil 3D to prepare the construction plans.
Engineering Reports: Prepare engineering reports for drainage studies and design, Engineer’s Opinion of Cost.
Preparation of Bid Documents: Prepare specifications and bid documents, co-ordinate with advertising of bids, review contract bids and proposals. Site Visit and Site Inspection: Visit sites for inspection of the projects to ensure the compliance of codes, ordinances and regulations, visit sites for preliminary site investigation and collection of necessary information.
Master’s in Civil Engineering with one year experience.
